Prefer to have 3-4 word documents side by side on one screen

4k or an ultra wide

4k you can have a nice 2x2 box of documents and on an ultrawide (the higher resolution ones, not the shitty 10080p ones) you can fit 4 side by side

I'd prefer the 2x2

Edit: I'd also wouldn't go any bigger then 32". Would be a big ole strain on the neck and eyes

I use a 43" 4k TV as my monitor, and it is fricking amazing for multiple windows side by side. I can fit 5 Word docs at 100%.

I have a TCL S Series/S405 4k 2018, but there are some better and more recent options that aren't too expensive.

How close do you sit to the 43"?

Any eye strain?

A couple of feet. No issues.

Nice. I used this guide to tweak the image settings.

I just mounted a 34" Samsung ultrawide WQHD (3440x1440)in my wife and I's office area. I decided to go with one wide monitor instead of two smaller monitors just for the cleaner look, but it might be a little too wide for single person use. It's a great monitor and nice to be able to throw windows into halfs or thirds, and of course my laptop monitor is in-use as well.

It has dual HDMI inputs so I may just set it up so that half of it is mine and the other half is my wife's since our work areas are side by side.

It's worth a try, but I think you'll find it doesn't render text as well as a monitor does. Be on the lookout for eye strain if you're using it to edit/read documents for extended periods of time.

I've got a slight input lag when I set up the 43" TCL as a monitor. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Are you using a "high-speed with Ethernet" HDMI cable?

I don't have any noticeable input lag, but I only use it for work/documents and not for gaming and only rarely for movies.

This is just an example of a non-standard (not 16x9 aspect ratio) montor. This example is curved; 32:9 aspect ratio; 49inch diagonal. They are pricey. LINK

Flat....

Did you set the input type to "computer" in the setting for whichever HDMI port you are using?
