Anyone know of a south Louisiana company for residential putting greens

Not sure if it’s a good idea, but I have the space and it could be fun to have. Any thoughts?

LA Custom Turf — owner, Shane Hughes. I’ve used him and highly recommend.

Same. He put in mine — a putting green with two patches of grass to chip from, plus a portable chipping platform. Top notch job, loved having it (since moved). Held up very well.

What’s a good rough idea of cost? High/low?

Depends on a lot of factors. You could spend anywhere from $2500 to $20,000 or $30,000. I’m sure you could spend more if you wanted something elaborate.

$20-$30 a square foot is a good estimate

I put mine in around 2011. I think I paid $8000 or so. It was a large putting green (4 holes) with 2 chipping areas. Not sure how the cost would run now.

How well has it held up since installing it back in 2011?

I moved away in 2016. It was in mint condition. It comes with a warranty against fading. It looked as good, was as receptive, and rolled just as good as day 1.

I know a few people around the northshore who have used Gulf Turf Solutions. LINK they do good work.
