Disney released the full soundtrack on their YouTube VEVO Channel. Going through some of them now.

most of the criticism is that its frame for frame from the original and lacks creativity.

im fine with that and im sure my kids and i will love it just like we did Aladdin.

It is odd though if its frame for frame, why is 32 minutes longer?

Probably the easiest job Hans Zimmer has had in his career.

Be Prepared is fricking awful and it’s clear they just added it in at the last minute.

EDIT: and to the idiots downvoting this post, I’m obviously talking about the remakes rendition of it. No shite the original is fricking outstanding, but listen to this and then tell me with straight face that it’s not largely crap: Be Prepared 2019

Adding insult to injury, the social outcasts’ rebellion against Mufasa’s autocratic regime is explicitly associated with the imagery of goose-stepping Nazis

It’s awful. He’s just talking with music in the background. Very flat. No emotion. Why did they change the lyrics? To make it more inclusive for the hyenas? LOL

Also not a fan of Can You Feel the Love Tonight? Beyoncé sings over the top of Donald Glover and ruins the song.

They cut be prepared because it would warn children not to follow leaders who promise free shite as long as you give them loyalty right?

Let me get this straight:

Mufasa: we live in a delicate balance and everyone contributes. We all live together in harmony and everyone can be happy. It's hard work but it's worth it.

Scar: frick you. I'm going to kill you and your kid and take all your shite and give it to the free loading hyenas and once it's all gone we'll all die due to greed, lust, and ignorance.

SJW Blogger: Scar was a great character. His philosophy is so wonderful he was just misunderstood. and Mufasa was an a-hole.

Just listened to both. Can’t match Jeremy Irons. Not even close. And I’m an expert on the Lion King soundtrack. Listened to that damn CD before bed every night as a kid for prolly a fricking year. Even had a piano recital with one of the songs.

She also went full pop diva on the song. Sweet Jesus. It’s a simple love song and she’s riffing up and down the scale like crazy. Unnecessary and as you said, completely drowns out the Gambino. Should/could have been an excellent track. Now it’s just awkward and unwieldy.

Yep. Watched Chris’s Stuckmanns review (who I think is pretty rational) and he said it’s basically shot for shot but lacks soul. The only positive thing he said about it was the cgi

As soon as Disney announced that Beyoncé would voice the character of Nala, I knew that she’d either “diva up” one of the existing songs or be given a brand new solo number. Apparently, it’s both.

Beyoncé has been overrated. She is to black women what Taylor Swift is to white women.

Beyonce is beloved by everyone. She might be overrated, but don't put her in one demographic corner.

Beyoncé can sing bettEd than Swift. Quite well in fact. She just over does fricking everything. She could do soul if she wanted.

Beyoncé is loved by black women, white women who act like black women, and queers who are basically black women.

No straight men over 30 - particularly white and Asian - are buying her crap.

Dude, not a good take. I don't like Beyonce, but white people like her because she appeals to white people and black.

And if you're a white male over 30, why do you even give a shite about the talent appearing in a movie marketed to children. This new lion king ain't for us. We have a good one. Now younger kids have theirs.
