It's not this easy. If the lower half of the carb can be salvaged the one bolt that holds the carb bowl on has the main jet incorporated in it. Will need a can of carb cleaner and a strand of wire from an electric wire to clean the horizontal and vertical jet holes out.

All true. While the bolt is out he also needs to spray carb cleaner up in there. The add gas with seafoam. It will crank, and run.

It's a 5,500 watt generator. I may have overreacted in my OP, haha, but I'm feeling confident I can get this bad boy running now. Thank y'all for all the tips!

About to head to home depot to take care of this, and my Dad owes me AND y'all.

Take it to an outboard motor or lawn mower shop.

Have them put in new points, etc. Will probably be good for twenty years if you empty the gas every year.

I’m in Dallas for training and can’t go home. The carburetor on my generator is off of it because the needle valve was stuck and I broke it trying to get it unstuck. Luckily I had ordered another one and my nephew went over and replaced it and is putting it back together.

Fingers crossed that he does it correctly and it works.

Tell your parents to run only non ethanol gas, and to
cut gas off and to run it till it stops next time.
Sounds like you have gummed up carb.
