The Persians are an ancient people, and had a highly developed culture before the rise of Islam.

The Arabs on the other hand, did not, and as a consequence do not value much of anything from the pre Islamic period.

I mention that because you can see it in how the Iranians interact with the outside world, especially compared to the Arabs. The Iranian perspective is a whole lot more sophisticated.

And you can see it in how they’re perfectly happy to reinterpret and adapt Islam to modernity, unlike the Arabs, who would call that heresy.

The Iranians are very pragmatic.

What I find interesting is that the article said it was being escorted ... but wouldn’t they have seen that motherfricker and not tried to board? Or was he beyond the horizon?
