randle is now a UFA cap hold vs a player option (pels will renounce or it will clear when he signs a new deal here or elsewhere)

We aren't. Just haven't renounced it yet. They will and that money will be available

Why are the cap holds for Hill, Johnson and even Jrue so high?

Only 2 guaranteed years of Jrue left too

He'll definitely opt out of that player option

Aren't the holds the most they could be signed for? So they basically make you carry the worst case scenario prior to extending.

How do they know what the salary cap is going to be in 2022-2023 for Jrue's hold? It is a number that can be in flux?

I wouldn’t think Randle is much of a cap hold. We don’t hold any Bird rights on him since he only played a year for us on a new contract.

his UFA hold is the same whether there are bird rights or not. it doesnt matter...once he signs a new deal anywhere or the pels renounce him it will come off.

stanley can be a restricted free agent if the pels offer him an RFA qualifying offer. if they do, his cap hold will remain on the cap until:

A. he signs a new multi year deal with the pelicans
B. he signs an offer sheet with another team and the pels either match it or let him go
C. he signs his QO with the pels
D. the pels withdraw the QO

if the pels dont offer a QO, he becomes a UFA and his cap hold comes off

Given his play last season, I think we can safely assume we don’t tender his QO.
