I've done both flying and driving. Its a 10 to 11 hour drive for my family depending on the number of stops, and I prefer driving for one reason. When I drive I get to decide when I leave. Family has had enough and hits the bed early the night before you leave? Hit the road early for the drive home. Having a blast and burning the midnight oil the night before you leave? Sleep in and leave late. Even stop and see some things on the way home. I hate being tied down to a departure time on a vacation with my kids.

We have decided to drive for our trip in September. We live north of Atlanta. Have two little ones. 1.5 and 4 at time of trip.
One thing to take note of is now the resorts cost to park at. We are staying at PO Riverside and I believe moderate resorts are $18 a night.

Just drove and stayed at Riverside, also. Drove from Columbia, SC - right at 8 hours I believe.
I considered flying (and there is a direct from Columbia) but just couldn't justify it. An hour at the airport, 2 hour flight, hour to get to hotel, all to save 4 hours? Just not worth the hassle, especially with 4 kids.
Also, as mentioned, the shuttle on the way back is going to take you to the airport like 3 hours before you leave.
No brainer for me to drive.

As others have said, by the time you drive to airport, get through airport, wait, get on plane, fly, get off plane, get all 6 of you down to the magical express lines, wait for a bus, get on bus, drive to WDW (airport is 30-40 min away), then eventually make it to your hotel, you are looking at 7 hours likely.
And you have to drag 4 kids through airport.
I'd drive.
It's slow. It's located on B side, bottom. So if you are arriving on A side (which Southwest uses), you gotta go all the way across and down. You then walk all the way to the end. There is a check-in, and they put you in line based on your resort. They try to get the busses at least half full, and will usually have 3 resorts on the bus.
Drive takes a bit but isn't bad. They play a whole bunch of "welcome to disney" programming which kids would like.
If you are on the first drop off, it's not bad... if you are third, it sucks.
What's "magical" is they send you special luggage tags to use. If you use them, then when you get to MCO, you don't go get your bags. You just head to the bus, and your bags are brought by truck to the resort. They show up in your room usually a couple hours after you get to the resort. Note, if you arrive after 10 pm, you get your own bags and put on the bus yourself and keep them with you.
Day before you head home, they give you a return time. Usually 3-4 hours before your flight which is kind of a long time. But, security at MCO can get really, really bad at times. Depending on airline and time, you can check your bags in at the resort before you leave, and you won't see them again until you are back in Nashville.
For reference, from NOLA to Disney, we only fly if we will be there 3 nights or less. Otherwise, we drive.

I’d drive. I like going to the wall mart or target and stocking up plus it’s easy to hop over to Disney springs for dinner

I’ve done both. I’d rather spend my time in an airport and on an airplane than being in the car for 9+ Hours. If I can afford to fly, I will. If not, I drive. The drive isn’t bad. I’ve done it 4 times. But I’d rather fly. Just can’t afford it when spending so already.

We've been both ways, but our first time flying (with a 6 year old) was a couple months ago. I'll never drive again. It was so easy. Flight was short from NOLA. The drive there is fun and could be an argument for the drive not being bad, but the drive back is absolutely terrible. Everyone is just ready to get home. Flying couldn't have been easier.
