Yes, I’m well aware that bama stockpiles 4 and 5 star linemen each year.

What other 4 and 5 star linemen are we thought to be the favorites for?

Are there more in Louisiana? What about nationally?

What’s our board look like?

I’m eager to know bc you’ve got me optimistic now that losing two such linemen from our backyard in such a critical year isn’t a big deal.

Please share the good news

Reading comprehension isn’t our strong suit today. Please remove your Alabama inferiority complex for a moment and reread the post instead of trying to slather a reply with sarcasm.

Not every lineman will go to Alabama.
And yes there are plenty of lineman nationally. It’s 6 months away from NSD which is more than enough time to build relationships.

Contact The coaching staff to express your concerns about the board. You can probably find their contact info on the LSU website with your inquiries and concerns.

Never said that potentially losing Guillory and/or Roy was not a big deal. Pointed that the if LSU loses them that it is better to lose them early rather than later which is a more than fair assessment. Neither of them are committed to Alabama at the moment. There’s your good news!!!

And yes every year is critical, every year the sky is falling, every year the program is in danger of being shut down, blah blah blah

Recognizing that bama is in our way isn’t an inferiority complex. It’s being in touch with reality and not being a blind homer.

You’re right, there are plenty of other targets. I was simply expressing concern that LSU doesn’t seem to be in on many of those at the moment.

I was under the impression that this board was the place to objectively discuss LSU recruiting. My apologies for doing so. I can see that the my impression was incorrect.

I didn’t mean to upset you or anyone else by discussing the reality of our current situation as it relates to football recruiting and our football program.

it's about getting to the NFL as a 1st rounder man. Alabama basically guarantees you to be drafted in the first 3 rounds as a defensive lineman. until lsu starts doing that we will get some but saban will take most of what he wants

So what you’re saying is, it IS about money.

I don’t understand the Bama love affair by Louisiana recruits at all. Especially d linemen. They are loaded at the position for years to come.

Contending for the national championship every year will do this for you.

The Alabama inferiority complex raises its ugly head! Would the concern be as intense if these two guys were talking to Wisconsin? Alabama pops up and the worst is assumed.

It’s is very probable that the staff is in contact with plan B and plan C, etc. It would be foolish on their part if they aren’t.

The reality of the situation is that their is interest is piqued now rather than later. They either get it out of the system or they commit early enough for LSU to move Plan B to Plan A. It would be ideal if Guillory and Roy decide Alabama isn’t for them. The situation is not bleak

I love Meatball to death. He is a hell of a dude and recruits his arse off... but let's get real forna second... Meatball isn't going toe to toe with the elite DL/HC in the country and winning many battles... It's time we bring in a DL coach with some heads on the wall to compliment what O brings as HC that knows elite DL, too.

I said this last year...nothing personal. But the results do not lie. We're filling other positions, but getting killed on the DL.

At some time or another this falls on one person.

All of the following fall on the head coach. Not just LSUs head coach.....but all head coaches:

Recruiting top talent
Recruiting top talent at every position
Developing recruits/players
Keeping players out of trouble
Preparing players during offseason
Hiring the right coaches
Prepare gameplan for the season
Prepare gameplan for each game
Be able to adjust in-game half and 4th q
Prepare players for each game in 6.25 days
Create depth by recruiting and development
Be prepared for early departures.
Create a winning culture

There is only a fraction of coaches in the ncaa that can do all of these. IT is obviously very hard

Some can do most of this. Most can’t do all of it.

It’s like customer service at the Chick-fil-A. They aim for 100% and achieve about 97% of it.

Everyone else goes for 85% (arbitrary) and they achieve their benchmark at 85%. Yet they lose.

ETA. Added recruiting at every position.

Well we are #2 in recruiting right now ahead of some pretty good teams. Give it a bit and we will have some big time linemen commit

Maybe it’s just me - and I don’t know the guy and for all I know he could be a great guy, recruiter and coach - but I’d have a hard time taking anyone seriously who’s nickname is Meatball.

Probably not an issue with recruits, but if I was a recruit that would be an issue for me.

Again the point is missed but thank you for demonstrating once again that reading comprehension is not our strong point.
