Just about each half inning was intense. States runner on third one out and pitching to mangham worked. In the end we learned we have the pitching to wiij

Pitchers were great. Hitting sucked. We had a chance to win the game and kicked a tough ground ball. We had a chance to keep playing by striking out the side and our catcher failed to block two pitches on strikeouts.

Did the dropped third strike in the 17th put the winning run on base or would it have been the third out?

Can someone describe the sequence of events?

We squandered plenty of opportunities after the 8th. Eventually fatigue and sloppy play did us in. Oh well.

Both. Two different Ks, two passed balls. One allowed runner on, one allowed him into scoring position

Both. It put the runner on. The next sequence allowed the runner to second on a wild pitch, 3rd strike.

Game went 17 innings and lasted until 4:15am ET.

LSU went down 4-0 early and it could have been MUCH worse. LSU came back and tied it in the 8th and we went to extras. LSU took the lead in 16th, but lost it in the 17th 6-5.

Pitching: Walker was not sharp at all. Beck started rough, but turned in the best I think I've ever seen from him. Hess was Good Hess and Hilliard looked very good too. Pitching? B+

Hitting: Outside of few players (hello Josh Smith and Gio), generally unclutch. WAY too may fly outs. Some of that was the great pitching from Moo, but it was a lot of the LSU batters. Flailing strikeouts and the aforementioned flyouts and unclutchness.

Disappointing.
