re: Great Wolf Lodge- LaGrange, GA
We went last month. We stayed two nights, which was plenty. We went during the week (vs. weekend), so it never felt horribly crowded. The room was $200/night for a regular room (including all taxes/resort fees), which was very reasonable considering the water park is included.

My biggest surprise was the popularity of the Magiquest thing. I had no idea it was so involved. Our kid spent hours running around the resort, completing the missions. She also loved the ropes course & the “design your own flip flops” shop.

The water park was fine. Not huge, but still fun. They have a ton of activities throughout the day, so there is plenty to do. The room & property were clean.

My main complaint about the experience is a general feeling that there are no adults in charge. Almost everybody working there was a teenager, and they kinda gave off a vibe. It wasn’t enough to make the experience negative, but it was noticeable.

People complained a lot about food prices, but they seemed average for that kind of place. We only ate one meal on site. We drove into town for the others.

How old are your kids? Any specific questions?

Wife and I took our daughter and a couple of her friends back in February. I'll never step foot in that place again, but the kids had a good time.

It's hell on earth packed into a muggy, chlorine filled warehouse of screaming children.

Groupon occasionally runs specials for the one here in the Dallas area so maybe they do the same in GA.

I’ve never been but I heard the same thing about Magic Quest thing - kids go off for hours and try to complete the quest.

We have been numerous times to the resort in Grapevine, but we've never gone to LaGrange. We have never had a bad trip to Great Wolf. You can literally park the car an never have to leave if you so desire.

We are a family of 5. My kids are 7.5, 6, and 4.

What are the eating options outside of GWL?

GWL itself is in a very odd location. Total middle of nowhere with nothing in the immediate vicinity (maybe one hotel across the street). If you drive a few miles into town, there are a ton of restaurants (“ton” being relative to the small town, but still a lot). They have all of the expected fast food places, breakfast places, etc., and a lot of sit down places. We ended up at Longhorn Steakhouse because I live with picky eaters, but it was better than I expected.

They will have a blast.

Only fast food and a Waffle House in the immediate area. Downtown LaGrange was about a 5-10 minute drive, and there were a handful of places downtown. We ate at a newish bar and grill both nights. Brickyard or something like that. It was okay, but just getting away from that place for an hour or two made it worth it.

If you're an ice cream fan, there is a Ben & Jerry's scoop shop at GWL, but when we were there they only had a handful of flavors available.

Went to GWL in LaGrange with a seven year old and two four year olds. They had a blast. Place was clean (most important to me) and there were tons of things to do. All you need is two days max. We would go back.
