Anybody go last year....is it more than just raw oysters...
I went to J PEARL on North blvd once with friends...it was so expensive I never went back..
Every other seafood resturant has oyster specials....how does J PEARL make it with those ridiculously high prices

Was wondering the same thing.

I agree their prices on non gulf oysters are ridiculous. Speaking of, I hope they have a good selection of raw.

Our bill was so HIGH I would not tell anyone to go there period....we have the best oyster why not just concentrate on gulf oyster and run specials...

May not be the best...but I believe in supporting our local fishermen....
J PEARL prices are just ridiculous for out of region oysters....

Eh...free events tend to draw not the best crowds. I’m heading down there now. Will report back

Last year was miserably hot, the food lines were too long to stand in, then they ran out of food. Our group went to Parrains for raw/chargrilled instead.

Was supposed to go today but just went to the farmers market and don’t think I’m going to trek back down there. Update if you go! I’d like to see it improve.

Event is free to attend. They have multiple restaurants set up selling oyster dishes.

I wasn’t really Too impressed. It was ok. I tried a couple things. The Oyster Man had the best tent IMO

Nothing really unique about the festival. Hopefully it develops.

Agreed.

Also, having options of oysters would be great. Literally only had 3 types of gulf oysters.

Saw them at Tipitina’s mid 90’s. Great show and band.
