Healthy grocery shopping

Sorry if this has been posted before.
I’ve always been a bigger fella and always considered myself in OK shape, especially for my weight. Anybody got a 300 lb fat friend who can outrun a bunch of smaller guys? That’s me. I weight lift, maybe hit a couple miles on a bike here and there.
Anyways, lately with work, I’ve been feeling extra drained due to excessive amounts of overtime. Well, I had 12 days off for a vacation and I still couldn’t shake the exhausted feeling. I think it’s time I start taking on a healthier lifestyle.
Working days/nights shift work doesn’t help my eating habits either. 95% of the time, I skip breakfast, even on off days, and sometimes won’t eat until the evening because I get distracted working around the house and whatnot. Then when I do eat, I fricking eat! I’m sure that’s part of the problem, eating a lot later in the day, but I’ve never even attempted to get on a meal schedule of any type.
I absolutely hate shopping, so me grocery shopping usually consists of me walking down every food isle, throwing in a few cases of water and a couple food items that don’t go together, then leaving because I can’t decide on shite.
My wife is the same way, a lot of times I’ll stop after work and pick up supper items because we JUST figured out what we’re eating.
Is there any type of program that gives you a shopping list? I’m at the point that I’m willing to pay for someone to tell me what to buy
Really though, I’m in a bind guys. Point me in the right direction

Here you go. I cook my turkey burger, chicken, eggs and sweet potatoes in bulk, makes it much easier to prepare your meals. Good luck!

Used to eat the shite out of those. I’d put that on a flatbread with mustard, shredded cheese and banana peppers.

You may want to look into intermittent fasting (start at 18:6 and work up to 20:4, then OMAD if you are balls out committed).
Combine with clean low carb, or keto if you are hard core.
A combo of these two will be the fastest and easiest (once you get through the first week) way to lose 50-100 pounds in the next 3-6 months.

Along with turkey burgers, tacos with ground turkey and wheat tortillas are a real easy switch to make. Tastes great. (Mission carb balance fajita tortilla is the healthiest I can find at groceries)
The key really is to clean the diet up. The easiest way is just cut out all the processed sugar. It really is that easy. Ive fluctuated for a while but I’m down 9 lbs in 3 weeks. Do yourself a favor and actually believe it when the people on this board say it’s 80-90% nutrition.
No sugar. No starchy carbs, only complex carbs. Lean meats (chicken breast, turkey, fish). Cruciferous veggies will provide nutrients and provide “fullness”. It’s that simple. If you are fairly active like you say, you probably don’t need to even count calories (even though it’s highly recommended), just clean the diet up.

Best advice i can give when grocery shopping healthy, is to try to not shop down the aisles. most of the packaged crap is garbage. Shop on the edges of the store. the only stuff i really buy in the aisles is like rice or oatmeal.

This cannot be stressed enough.
Produce, meat, dairy. Everything else is off limits except for spices and salad dressings. WATCH your salad dressings! A salad is wasted if you are dumping honey mustard all over it.
I invite you to the Keto thread. If low energy and being fat are your problems, this diet can greatly help (solve) that for you. Atkins is another great way to go, but I found that Keto had me feeling fuller and wanting to eat less. .

This X1000
You can make a damn tasty dish out of ground meat/turkey/chicken, kale, onion and sweet potato in a huge pan. mix and match ingredients as you like, but for a simple filling lunch/dinner/meal prep thing, it doesn't get much easier.
My sprouts has grassfed beef for $3.99 a pound this week. 2 pounds of that, 2 onions, 5 servings of kale and 2 sweet potatoes would be somewhere in the range of $15 (little oil and spices i already own). I can EASILY get 6 meals out of that

One note on those fats: chia and flax have very little bioavailable omega 3, so they are meh.

I've never seen a 300lb person that was in shape. I would try to focus on cardio and losing the weight first. I'm sure your heart and joints would appreciate it if you lost the weight even more. No way you're keeping pace running with smaller guys.

What I meant by ok shape is all my numbers are good every time I do a physical. I haven’t been to a doctor for a sickness in probably 8 years, and I’m pretty agile for my size. I know people who weigh 50 lbs less than me and can’t move out of their own way.

Never seen an NFL tackle then? There aren't many guys who are like that, but NFL tackles and DL often are in pretty good shape, just massive humans
