Quinones
TBH I get irritated when someone comments “who” when they clearly dont follow recruiting in the first place. Why comment who if you have no idea what the frick is going on...

If he was coming here before the suspension, why would he still go elsewhere once Wade returned and Alleva was banished?

Seems like Wade could have explained things to him and emphasized that the person responsible for the instability was gone.

I'd like to know how Memphis can sign 8 recruits. Did they cut everyone?

Looks like they will sign three 5-stars and four 4-stars. 2 Centers, 2 Forwards, and 4 Guards.

That's a young team, but a lot of talent.

Does playing for a former NBA player mean THAT much to these kids???

5 seniors, 2 transferring underclassmen and the kid who passed away are all free.

It's the "cool thing" to start out but Penny just backed himself into the corner of get it done next season or you probably lose out on guys moving forward.

A lot of these guys will be gone after 1 year at Memphis.

Honestly I see their season as being a huge disappointment. No way a second year HC effectively uses all that talent enough to keep guys happy. Plus, the fact that the team will be that young doesn’t help

Memphis hoops fan, LSU football fan here. First thing is, the only guys that should be gone after next year are James Wiseman and Precious Achiuwa (if we land him).

Secondly, it'll be hard for this year to be a disappointment. We haven't been to the tournament in 5-6 years I believe, if Memphis makes it to the second weekend of the tourney that's a successful year for Penny who did a fine job this year with barebones talent.

Look andretti, this is america, and you can like who you like. That being said, why aren't you a memphis fb and LSU hoops fan?? I just love meeting those bama fb/duke or unc hoops fans that are everywhere now. Don't take this as an attack, just please tell me how you came to be if you don't mind.

No problem, Memphis is my hometown and for most of my life only the hoops team was worth following. It's been nice to see the football team get its act together.

As for LSU, the Bluegrass miracle is the first CFB game I can remember (I was 8 at the time) and after that magic I've rooted for the Tigers FB team ever since. Memphis FB/LSU BB are cool teams, definitely don't root against them, but the emotional investment for the other two is just in a different stratosphere.

10-4. Different strokes I guess. I'm purple and gold in everything and couldn't be any other way.

In theory, you're right. But if Tyler somehow ends up being behind these new guards, Frank (if you know Memphis AAU then you know Frank) is gonna be PISSED!!

Egos will probably be the most challenging thing for Penny, I agree. Tyler just has to consider playing a vital role, but maybe not starting for a contender or trying to get a bunch of PT at MTSU or UT-Chat or whatever. I think/hope he'll see it through.

Very few Memphians are Memphis football fans LOL most like either a SEC team, or depending on their age Miami, Florida State, Michigan or whomever was hot at the time.

I completely undertand that. But it is too easy to be a bama fb, duke hoops, LSU baseball, johns hopkins lacrosse, arkansas t/f, ne nfl, gs nba, and nyy mlb fan. I just have a thing about band wagon fans. Whenever I meet a bama fan, the first thing I ask is who is your college hoops team. To me, there are only 2 correct responses: 1)bama, or 2) I don't watch college hoops. That's just my take though.
