I know a besh group employee that backs up what fightin tiger says. A male, still with the group. He’s shocked Shaya has come out unscathed with this

Simple common sense would lead me to believe that he could not have risen within a toxic organization to his level without at least witnessing bad behavior & remaining relatively silent...how culpable was he? That's hard to determine from the outside.
More interesting to me is how he goes forward: does he manage to run his restaurants in new ways that break from the crap behavior of the past? He's made a big public effort, but only time will tell if he succeeds in his efforts. Let's hope he's had a change of heart & can genuinely treat others with more respect.

His mission statement at Saba (posted on social media) basically states that it is open and welcome to all and creating safe space treatment of all will be of the highest priority

true. But can't the same thing be said about any other Besh employee, whether kelly fields or brian landry?

I'm not sure...did Fields work within the Besh organization for as many years as Shaya? I don't know. Ditto for Landry. I think length of association with a toxic culture as a senior manager matters quite a bit. If you were there for a couple of years vs a decade plus running multiple restaurants, for example.

Well regardless of conventional wisdom, he has come out of it standing and moving forward. He might be guilty as hell but he so far has played his cards right and asses in the seats is all that matters and apparently they are bringing the people in.

Time will tell. Brett Anderson didn't uncover enough apparently. However, they could have filed with the EEOC which is private unless they file a civil suit after the right to sue letter. I can't remember when in time all of this took place, but it's possible some claims could be filed.
I don't believe anyone has said Shaya was a player in this stuff. The rumors are only that he knew about it or some of it. Whatever he knew, he's sure got a public face on which indicates he's trying to ensure none of that goes on in his current restaurants or if it does, the person or people will be dealt with swiftly.

You are missing the hypocrisy when you make these statements. Shaya was one of the people he was blowing the whistle on. Add in the financial angle he had and it comes off even sleazier.
I don't think Shaya knew of Besh raping anyone, probably because he wasn't really raping anyone. (The concubine story hasn't really held up either). Just shitty business practices that led to a toxic environment. Besh got what he deserved out of this.

There were a few cases filed.

Is Shaya a defendant?

I don't know the specifics, but if he was that probably would be noted.

Shaya is a fricking snake and deserves any hardships he feels as a result if all of this. Dont think for a second he wasn’t behind alot of what was levied at Besh. He saw an opportunity

It's always struck me as a sort of 'he doth protest too much' situation.

Well it’s always a friend of a friend or I know a guy. Nothing has stuck with the guy so he moves on and tries to distance himself and deflect. So far, so good.

Great read (I read it earlier). Total BS, that whole situation.
