Killed this 2 yr old this morning at 0800. I was walking a road heading into some hardwoods and he gobbled close. Nowhere good to setup so I just knelt down next to a tree. Called once he answered. 2 Jakes come rolling in and he's lagging behind. One Jake gets 5 yards from me and busts me and started putting. Saw the gobbler starting to walk off and made a quick shot. Remington 1187 20ga with tss #9 and a Burris ff3 at 45 yards. Took all of about 3 minutes.

Road poacher screwed me this morning.

Had an hour long stalk 3 seconds away from a solid finish. Stand up to shoot turkeys just over a ridge and jackass had parked his truck on the road and got out to shoot them across the field with a rifle i guess... birds moved from 20 yds in front to 20 yds directly to my right running from him in about 5 seconds

Think that’s how tenfoe kills 97% of his birds. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, better than shooting off the limb.??

I’ve only gone once and called one in for guy. I guess creeping is better than baiting

Haven’t been yet

Not sure if that’s a good thing or bad thing with my lack of skills.

I didn’t get to hunt opening day and bird gobbled over 40 times. I was pretty bummed about missing that.

3/15: Called in 3 gobblers to 40 but couldn't get a clean shot

3/22: Chased a gobbler in a circle. Impatience got the best of me.

4/11: 1 hour in after a 12 hour drive got a longbeard down

I live in Collierville. Had a decent morning yesterday in Tate County, MS but couldn't close the deal...come home and then am leaving my house to go to my nephew's birthday party, there is a huge gobbler strutting on the side of Frank Road 50 yards from my driveway

One of the biggest birds I've ever seen was on Frank road across from the golf course.

I've seen bunches on Frank Road park.

I drive walnut grove and there is a huge flock right around greys creek.

I hate them so much...

This is my first year hunting this new lease in SW MS and Im about to go full Rambo on a bird ive been watching fror the past month now. I think hes a 2 yo bc he wont shut up but he acts a lot older by the way he moves through the property. Havent killed one yet this season but its been fun chasing this bird around. He was the only bird to gobble this AM but he keeps moving his roost within a 200 yard circle and flies down a different direction each morning. Hopefully i can end the chase tomorrow morning before work

Should be 2/2 on hunts. I fricked up and separated myself too far from guy I was calling birds in for and he’d never been on a legit hunt. Twice he had birds sneak up on him with gun in lap today. Wind was brutal, but second bird was picking skeeters off his face so I think he could have killed him with his bare hands
