I'm assuming he had to answer some pretty tough questions about what exactly he meant when he said the things the Yahoo article quoted him as saying. I get that he had weeks with a full legal team to work on those answers, but he still had to execute. I can see how Alleva could have let him off the hook with softball questions (I think Alleva really wanted to bring Wade back at this point to appease the fanbase). I would imagine the NCAA presence made it a little trickier though.

It was probably a lot more boring than I'm imagining (he may have even let his attorneys do most of the talking). I'm still intrigued though.

Do we know for for sure what is on the tape? No one has heard it.

I wish I could have been there for the Aramark buffet they set up for this meeting.
I wonder what they served?

I pictured Wade walking in and slapping Alleva around like Kurt Russell did Billy Bob in Tombstone.

No we don't know what is on the tape, but I'm sure Will said what it says he said or else he would have simply denied it immediately. Now, did he say other things on the tape that gave his comments more context? Maybe, I don't know.

I mean it probably was as simple as will denying that he any idea what they were talking about and the strong arse offer was just a scholarship.

With no hard evidence to the contrary, NCAA/LSU can’t do shite.

All they have is a yahoo article, and statements from everyone involved saying they have no idea about anything

Apparently you would have heard....

Alleva: "Coach Wade, did you ever pay anyone for a recruit or player to play for LSU?"

Coach Wade: "Nope."

Alleva: "Okay, then, that's good enough for me...."

NCAA Rep: "I'm good with that, too."

F. King Alexander: "Kumbaya, my Lord, kumbaya...."

LSU Compliance Lady: "Wait! What the frick?!?"

Our admins: "So have you done any wrong doing in recruiting regarding the wiretaps from the FBI?"

Wade: "Are they (NCAA) getting the tapes?"

NCAA: "Probably not, it's unlikely"

Wade: "I've done absolutely nothing wrong"

If I heard correctly, they said the meeting last for five hours!

How many questions can you ask and answer in five hours?

1 hour asking and answering questions

4 hours waiting for Derek P. to finish stress eating lunch buffet realizing what he had been defending for a month was about to blow back up in his face

LSU fan base: Sorry Joe, Mr. F*King, your contrition won't save you.

Mr. NCAA Rep, we'll have Officer Bonecrusher here, escort you off campus. Consider this your official notice. If you return, you'll be cited for trespassing. Punishment will be every individual specimen in a 40 lb sack of crawfish, unceremoniously inserted in your rectum.

If it was a five hour meeting then lawyers did most of the talking. If you thinking "can there really be enough questions to take up five hours?" I'll take you with me to a deposition some time. Bring a suicide pill in case you decide to kill yourself mid-day.

My guess was that the issue had been worked out prior to the meeting and that the actual meeting was just a rubber stamp in front of the NCAA peeps. But if it was a five hour meeting then that wasn't the case.

Regardless, hopefully the NCAA has decided it doesn't have the evidence to pursue an investigation and this is all over with. Hopefully some of our guys decide to come back after they get their evals.

I think there is way more to this than we all know.

...Reports FBI were in town and don't want Wade to testify.

Did they really need to come to town for that? Couldn't they just file the motion without either talking to LSU or Wade?

What information might have been exchanged? What deal might have been made?

Things that make you go Hmmmm.....
