Besides preparing the bed, is there anything that I should do for azaleas within a week or two of planting them to help them flourish?

I always pull the azalea out of the container and before planting it, I will drop it into a larger container full of water and let the azalea soak up a good bit of water prior to planting.

pull it out the container and loosen the roots. Plant it with a couple of
Inches about soil level and cover with 2-3” of organic mulch. Nothing special about it

Azaleas love iron. Throw a few nails in the hole when you plant.

Do this, and water well through the summer until established but not to excess. Azaleas do not like “wet feet”. They can develop root rot by over watering.

Pine needles. Azaleas need acidic soil

When planting shrubs or flowers, use a starting or root stimulator solution. Comes as a concentrate that you dilute out.
