My wife and I are looking to go to Cabo in late-April. Do you all have any suggestions of resorts we should consider?

Went to Secrets in January. It was a great experience and short ride to San Jose del Cabo, Flora Farms, etc.

ETA: I agree with others about not staying at an all-inclusive if you’re close to San Jose del Cabo. I really enjoyed what it had to offer, but my stay was free, so... couldn’t turn it down.

DONT DO ALL INCLUSIVE

Heading dow there April 13th for the umpteenth time. So much good food and places to go in Cabo I don’t see the point in an all inclusive.

If you’re dead set on it maybe Secrets or Breathless

Went in late 2017. Timed the visit around peak fishing. Guys trip for just that: fishing our asses off. In fact the fishing was so good we limited out before Noon on both charters and left ourselves tons of time to explore the city.

Lots of crap tourist traps but lots of cool shops also. Bring fresh fish into Cabo restaurants and they will prepare it seven different ways. With beers, our bills worked out to around $7 a person. Had some of the best meals of my adult life there. Brought in Wahoo, Tuna and Mahi Mahi (they called it Dorado).

Find a condo on Pedragal mountain. Van taxis will take you anywhere in less than 10 min for $20 for at least half dozen people.

Excellent Breakfast, cool shops, mild to wild nightlife and an amazing location. No need to go all inclusive like your grandparents on a cruise to Cozumel.

Live a little.

The view from Portofino Pedragal overlooking Cabo, the marina, the bay and the Pacific. Brought best stop boudin and steaks in to cook one night. Hit Wally World on the way in for snacks, sides and (a large amount of Tecate) Beer. The crazy-looking item on the right before the pool is a grill. We used it to fend for ourselves and cook our own food for a few meals over 5 days by the pool. I know. Crazy right?

Pro Tip: Bring your own cigars. There’s a decent shop in the retail area by Wally World but they’re a little tourist trappy with prices.

The view from the back of our Betram in the Pacific. Anti nausea meds-along with anything else you could possibly need pharmaceuticals speaking-are available at pharmacies all over. Walk in, get what you want, leave. Simple. There are multiple locations in the marina alone.

You never get much farther than this from shore. Water depth plunges just off the coast. Traveled up the pacific side of the peninsula to find our spots but the fishing is fantastic.

The view for breakfast. Just looked the place up online using Google. Resort on the bay with a bunch of Posadas. Ridiculously good and about $6 a man. The famous Arco Los Cabos in the distance.

Winner winner chicken dinner. Tiki Bar there in the marina will prepare sashimi 7 different ways and it’s fricking incredible.

Without kids or other couplels..... One & Only is legit l.

The Cape (a Thompson Hotel) is brand new and feels like a W....super chic and modern. Rooftop bar has one of the best views in Cabo.

Last time we were there we stayed at Villa Del Arco, right on Medano Beach. Can walk to everything in town. They have an all inclusive option. Villa Estancia, next door, is very nice as well. Sister properties.

DONT DO ALL INCLUSIVE

While I appreciate the Travel Board's love of good travel and adventure, some people just want to go to a place where they can chill - lay in one spot - and have a drink put into their hand. I am looking at an All Inclusive for this summer because I am just wrapping up the first phase of a new start up and I need beach time and zero decisions.

You don’t have to spend money to travel internationally if all you wanna do is get drunk on a beach somewhere

I understand man and all inclusives have their spot but like stated if close to town especially walking distance it’s just better to eat and socialize in town. There are a ridiculous amount of restaurants/bars and it’s so easy. You can always charge some booze and random meals to the room. But you more than likely come out ahead or even and have a better time not doing all inclusive. Either way enjoy your trip.

I was just looking into these places today. I want something on the beach that is close to the city and close to some site seeing. What's the city like? Close/safe enough to walk late at night?

If you stay in the tourist areas you are fine but you will end up taking a taxi at some point. They are cheap. Besides the restaurants and clubs, not much to do in town at night anyway. Those resorts also offer a shuttle that takes you into town.
