Did the range at LSU close?
Should have been a little clearer - since the golf ball range and the one off Essen closed, it’s the only one on that side of town. Other than whatever they have at the old Sherwood Forest CC location and up a Beaver Creek, that’s all there is.

Played SM on Tuesday, The only thing to me that needs work are the greens. Still kinda bumpy. Fairways and first cut were in great shape. Bunkers were raked very well too

I played last Saturday and I've played in Dallas, San Antonio, and North LA in the last month and SM greens were in just as good of shape as anywhere else, especially considering the weather. It's hard to find a complaint about the course considering it's 50 bucks for a green fee

Walked SM Saturday since it was carts on path. It was in good shape given all the weather. Really enjoyed my round.
In typical fashion I had 3 birdies in 4 holes....still shot 88. It sucks to suck.

Big cut on 4

Or worse, hit the dreaded straight ball and be long left.
The play is to take the proper club (maybe 3w or 5w depending on the tees) and just hit it in the middle.

What does that leave y'all in?

I was being facetious toward Chappy.
Seriously, I hit my 3H. It's my 220-240 club depending on roll out. Still gives me 130-150 in. PW or 9i with almost no risk. Pretty simple.

I went out there yesterday first time since college (graduated LSU in 07) to hit some balls. Just hit on the range and spent some time on the putting green.
The range seemed to be in decent shape (grass was healthy but could maybe mow it a little tighter)
The putting green rolled nicely and if the greens on the course are that good then I would say it's probably one of the better courses in the area. The putting green was definitely better than what the Web guys are about to experience at LT this weekend.
