Anyone have experience with either of these receivers? Newegg has these for $650 (pioneer) and $700 (onkyo). Of course they are actually more up front, but both come with gift cards, which I would use for other networking components. I’m looking for a 9.2 receiver with three zones and these seem to be pretty good options for the money. Onkyo has a higher list price, and is thx certified, but pioneer seems to have slightly higher ratings.

Any insight is appreciated.

They are the same company so the build quality is identical. I just put a rz630 in my house to run three zones. The controller app is one of the better ones out there imo.

THX certification for a mass produced HT receiver is all marketing. It really has zero real world value at this level.
