Let me be the first to say it.....the Year of Phil has begun????

Looks almost a lock he starts 2019 2nd MC 1st. That's pretty much vintage Phil. Already has a round of 60. Somehow is swinging 121+ with the driver like he's back in his prime.

The majors line up beautifully for him. PGA is at Bethpage where he finished 2nd in two US Opens. US Open is at Pebble where he's about to win for the 5th time and was 4th at the 2010 Open where he had a great chance to win down the stretch.

I really think he could do something stupid special this year given his age.

I wouldn't be shocked if he defends the WGC in Mexico, contends at the Masters and PGA then finally wins the US Open and cements his legacy as one of the absolutely greats of all time

Unless phil puts multiple balls in the water on 18, he’s won.

Phil mentioned it in his post round speech, but Pebble is going to play completely different at the US Open than it did this week.

Anybody know who won the amateur portion of the tournament? I can't find it.

Paul Casey and his partner from FedEx. Reason why the am was still playing this morning with Casey but Phil's was not.

Phil’s am partner wasn’t playing yesterday either IIRC.

In the stone ages two ams would “win”

1 would be whoever had the lowest score paired with their pro score

The other would be for the am that helped the pro the most

Will research to see if they still do this

Phil completing the Grand Slam this year would be so awesome. It would allow me to forgive his awful Ryder Cup performance last fall.

He did also mention that the one benefit he does have is that he always seems to play his best golf there.

If it's wet and windy for the US Open it'll bring out his advantage with those three quarters knock downs if he can find fairways. If the weather is bad he's the favorite.
