Pels Are Being Held to an Unfair Standard - Stein

"The Pelicans are being held to a standard that the NBA has not held other teams to this season. A very healthy Carmelo Anthony was essentially exiled by the Rockets in November. Memphis' Chandler Parsons and Cleveland's JR Smith"
"If Anthony Davis wants to exercise his right to request a trade, his team should be able to exercise the right to not play him until the trade is made"

Kawhi Leonard last year?

There has been a quiet understanding that the league will be more lenient if Pels wait until after the break to shut him down. He will get shut down eventually.
HOWEVER, there are some in the Pels organization who believe you gain extra trade leverage if you threaten to hold onto and play AD next year if you don't get the deal you want. And they believe it will be hard to sell that narrative if they shut him down. So there are actually some pretty big voices inside who WANT to play him.
Can't say I agree...

Unless you posted this in an unrelated thread, I have no idea whether your post is sarcasm or not. I'm not searching through individual posters post history before every thread. That's retarded.
This is information that pels fans should see given the narrative going on right now.

It’s in at least 2 topics on the first page.

Well, if you know teams like the Lakers, Celtics, Knicks won't have cap space in the 2020 offseason to sign him, then the longer you hold on to him and say no to trade offers, i'd imagine the better the offers will get.
but I agree, I don't like that plan.
I don't care what the offers are this offseason, you have to move on.

I feel like that's a bluff everyone would see through. Regardless of if he plays out the year or not.

Again, not going to search through every topic either. If it isn't already a thread, then stop complaining

You should go start another thread for the Simmons tweets this morning. Pels Talk must know this information.
Place is a shite show, I’ll complain all I want.

Dear God I hate this fricking front office.

In regards to the "understanding" that he'll get shut down...I think he get shut down when the Pels are "officially" out of the playoffs. Optically speaking you can argue that they want to take the time to evaluate younger talent for upcoming seasons. It's a win-win for the league and the Pels at that point.
Makes no sense to hold on to AD after this season. Stupid idea to make that bluff.

Good column by Kushner.
Pels franchise is being screwed badly. But I also agree that management an ownership should speak out.

Honestly, play him and run him into the ground just to spite the NBA. When he refuses to play or makes up some fake injury, you can screw his value, yes, but at least people will see him for the giant vagina he's become in this whole mess.
Play him 48 minutes/game and force his only way out to be by intentionally fouling out, at which point you give the team leverage in a potential suit against him. Silly I know, but short of an ACL or Achilles tear, teams will trade significant value for him.
