Much to my surprise I recently discovered that Laplace not only has a golf course, but there are two that seem to have high star ratings on golf advisor. What are the board’s thoughts on Riverlands and Belle Terre? Thanks in advance

Riverlands greens smoke Belle Terre, but I like Belle Terre more

My FIL was the superintendent at Belle Terre for years up until around 2017. It could be a pretty fun course with some neat holes. However, they refuse to put any money into the course and last time him and I played it (Aug 2018 or so), it was horrible. Some greens were unplayable. It is a shame.

Unfortunately Laplace doesn’t have any courses on the primo list.

Just got off the course at Riverlands. A few areas are soggy but the fairways are in good condition and the greens are great.

Used to be a member at Riverlands, layout is meh but the greens and fairways are almost always good. Belle Terre is an early Pete Dye design and has a good layout but the upkeep is lacking. Put Riverlands greens on Belle Terre's layout and you'd have something.

Belle terre has fallen off big time compared to what it was 10-15 years ago. I still enjoy it when I play it though and it has started to trend back in the right direction. They went through a period of downright awful ownership/management for a while. Ran off tons of good members.

Played Belle Terre today for the first time in over ten years. It was in pretty decent conditions. Most of the greens, outside of #9, were in really good shape and rolled true
