Why is the student section so pathetic for basketball these days? None of the people even look like they want to be there, they look like they know nothing about basketball...
I can remember in the 1999-2000 season, you had to get to weekday games well before the game and people even slept out there for Kentucky. Granted that was when we were good, but it really is embarrassing how little they are noticed. During team intros there was so much news paper being thrown and the sections were slammed with students. It’s kind of disappointing because I remember that season being as fun as football, but they aren’t even a factor at all anymore.

First off they’re in the wrong spot so even if they were rowdy nobody would even notice cause you can’t even see them. They’re way too far from the court and have to be moved back. Until that happens we’ll have the same problems with noise and atmosphere

Until we start becoming a more consistent tourney team you’re only going to get the Deaf Dome atmospheres for the UK and Tenn games

Because kids today live a facsimile of reality instead of reality itself. Most of them also seem very weak in the social skills department.

That's dumb. The kids todays are at other schools with raucous student sections.
