So I scored some tickets to the game against the Panthers on the 30th, as his Christmas present. I've been to NO, but never to a game. So are there any insights you can give me? Parking price, place, anything that will make our trip the best?

My son is 11 so that unfortunately rules out a good bit. LOL!

Thanks for any advice

I'd recommend parking at Merit Parking Garage (1615 Poydras St.) The best way to get there is to take I-10 to Tulane/Airline and then take Airline towards Perdido St. You can pull into the garage from Perdido. Costs $30 and they take credit/debit card. It's right across the street from the Dome and Champions Square. I'd plan to get there at least 1-2 hours early to deal with traffic and security bag check lines. Hope you and your son have an awesome time. It's an incredible atmosphere. Who Dat!

If possible stay the night before in NO. Get a hotel in walking distance to the dome. Y’all will have a blast, I’ll be at that game also.

ETA: Poster above me with great advice if you can’t stay the night before

I'd suggest trying to buy a parking pass for garage 6, if you're driving in for the game and leaving afterwards. That garage makes it incredibly easy to get on and off of I-10.

As another poster stated, stay the night prior if you can and hit up a restaurant with your boy and just enjoy the evening.

I can't wait for my boys to be a little older so I can have these types of outings with them. Enjoy it man!

Parking depends on where you're staying. if you're in the central business district (CBD) or on canal street you can walk from basically anywhere to the dome.

Game is at noon so you don’t have much time before game. I think every Sunday a former saints player signs autographs before the game so that may be worth checking out.

I’d go to the gift shop and just go into the dome early. He’ll enjoy that more than champions square which is tailored to trashy older folk

And I wouldn’t park in the dome either or pay anyone for that matter. There’s plenty of free parking on the Claiborne side of the dome. Get there early, bring some donuts and a football, toss it around then head into the dome

Every game I park my car at the Park and Ride at 928 Howard Ave, New Orleans, LA 70113. Its 20$, you can pay with your card they will charge you 10$ twice at the kiosk, for the day and a secure and safe part of town. Its close enough to the stadium a short 10 minute walk through lots of people tailgating. Best part is I have never parked there and not left the parking garage after a game and been back on I-10 headed home within 20 minutes. Easy acces going and coming into that garage. Anywhere closer to the dome youre spending 40$ to park and its a nightmare to get out after. Champions Square is fun before the game. 2 hours before kickoff there is always a Saints player from the past signing autographs for fans at the Saints HOF inside the dome. You can find out who that player is few days before the game on the Saints app or website under "Game Day Guide". Going to "The Office" bar which your son can get into inside the dome is cool to see Mr. Benson's office as it was set up at the Saints facility in Metairie. If you go in really early and go down to the 100 level near section 125 or so I believe in the corner is where the players and coaches enter the field for warmups you can usually get some autographs.

I park on Cleveland St. near Elk behind the Tulane medical center

It’s free and secluded enough to have open spots. Short walk down Loyola to the dome.

Thanks guys, I know that he will be super excited when I pick him up to head that way. According to my wife I am more excited than my son will be though I doubt that.

Thanks for all of the tips, we will for sure try to check out where the Saints come into the stadium if he could score an autograph that would for sure make his day!

Park for free on street in the warehouse district and check out the xmas lights in the roosevelt on your walk in. Some clown suggested spending 30 bucks for parking - what a dope

So if I get to the dome really early, how early can you get in and how early before the game does the team come out to warm-up? Also my seats are in the upper deck, so can I still get down to Section 128 for when they come out to warm-up or do I need a ticket for that section?

You can absolutely get down to the lower sections. I think gates open up two hours early.

Get to your seat early as they normally put some wash cloth sized Saints give-away on the seat back of every seat and an 11 year-old gets into having and waving that kind of thing. As soon as you get into the Dome, you can look out at the lower level seats and see if they are giving them away at the game you’re going to. If you don’t see them on the backs of the empty seats, then don’t worry about checking for them on at your specific seats.

Have fun with your kid, that’s a bunch of fun as the Noon kickoff games aren’t too bad for drunks and shitty behavior.

My only advice is find parking a good ways from the dome.

Well, not the result we had hoped for, but my son had an awesome time! It would have been better if Drew would have played, and as I say a win, but he was super stoked! Parking and traffic wasn't bad going or coming (granted we left with about 9 minutes to go in the game)

He can't wait to do it again!
Thanks again to everyone
Geaux Saints!
