University High players going out of state

How did LSU miss on so many on campus? Were they offered and decided to go elsewhere?

There is an NCAA rule 2241.67AB that prohibits any kid from UHIGH from signing with the instate state university unless all other schools of the NCAA give written consent.

I’m pretty sure Harris was the only one of those with an offer and LSU backed off of him because they wanted a LB who’s actually played LB before

U-High has been anti-LSU for many years now. That's why Ben Miles went to Catholic High.

ive seen these threads throughout the season...its puzzling to me that we dont offer them....my thought is if Georgia,Clemson, and Bama are taking them then they are good enough to play for LSU as well...it really does blow my mind we wouldnt at least offer them since they are in our backyard

So LSU shouldn’t do their own evaluation? Just see what other teams offer them. Maybe they reached out to the player/coach/family and they did not express any interest in coming to LSU so they decided to put their time and resources into another player.

No,idea about the other kids. But Harris was a no show at the LSU camp and had never played linebacker before. The camp no,show was a pretty good medication he was not interested in LSU.

OLB, Bryton Constantin- LSU currently has Marcel Brooks from Texas, the #3 OLB committed. He's not just the #3 OLB, but one of the most athletic freaks of nature playing HS football this year.
ILB, Christian Harris - LSU currently has Donte Starks from Louisiana, the #6 ILB committed. If you have seen him play, you know what a violent, heat-seeking missile he is at the position.
ATH, Makiya Tongue - LSU currently has Trey Palmer from Louisiana committed and is in the hunt for George Pickens. Both players are graded much higher than Makiya who could play either WR or S. Devonte Lee from Louisiana is probably a better comparison, who is expected to sign with LSU. Lee is also the better player than Tongue.
CB, Jordan Clark - Derrick Stingley from Louisiana, Maurice Hampton, Cordale Flott and probably one more CB will be in this class, all graded higher. I do think that Clark is graded a bit low, but he's probably the 4th best CB in this class for LSU if he signed.
RB Mike Hollins - There is only 1 football to be handed off. John Emery from Louisiana and Ty Davis from Louisiana are going to get it before Hollins does at LSU. If LSU was looking for a 3rd RB in this class, they might make more of a push for him but he'd be the Lanard Fournette of the class.
OT Dylan Rathcke - Ray Parker from Louisiana and Thomas Perry from Louisiana are graded out to be weeeeeeell ahead of Rathke who will need a few years developing before seeing the field in the SEC.
If you sign one of the U-High kids, someone who is currently on the committed list drops off. LSU is going to sign better players than what U-High can offer this year. The idea that U-High kids don't like LSU doesn't fully explain why Jaquelin Roy is currently committed to play at LSU. It's not like U-High cranks out upper tier players every year. This season is an outlier.

Some Alabama folks don't feel like Christian Harris will make it in their final numbers, depending on who commits. They think he will be told to look around. Thoughts?

I agree with all of this except the last sentence. And that is precisely why these other programs are taking these UHigh kids that LSU doesn't want. They're trying to get in LSU's backyard and establish a presence in the school for future players. UHigh has become the place for talented north baton rouge kids, and there are always a lot of those.
