BR Business Report

quote:

Located in the former Crispy Catch building, the full-service restaurant and bar will span the first and second floors, with an outdoor rooftop space, Hughes says in a press release this morning.
quote:

The menu will include “unique burger creations using house ground beef,” hand-cut fries, fresh salads, brisket and tacos, as well as other sandwiches and appetizers. The main bar and the rooftop bar will feature 24 beers on tap, wine on tap and fresh-squeezed juice cocktails.
quote:

We wanted to bring something to the Perkins Road overpass area that has a casual and fun vibe but still family friendly,” says Hughes. “While taking a look at the roof of the old Kean’s Cleaners, we realized it was a perfect opportunity for a rooftop space and we loved the idea.”

Shakes, beer, and sides plus people that make a bunch of mods on their burger. I used to work at one of these places in BR and more often than not, people would drop $15-20 per person after they got everything they wanted when a standard burger was under $7.
Think about the difference in equipment/storage/labor costs in making a burger versus pouring a beer or quickly mixing a milkshake. Then it is easy to realize those are the moneymakers when they are sold at similar prices.

The rooftop should have a great view of the interstate.

I know he has been working on some smoked wings that, at least from what I have seen on his Facebook, look wonderful. He mentioned to me that he was doing R&D for the group for some new menus.....I guess this is what he was referring to without officially coming out and saying it.

We had a conversation at Cap City Beerfest about it. I wish him well with the new venture but before Pelican, I honestly didn't know he was a chef.

Yea, I went to Pelican too much. It was on my way home from work at the time and one of the original owners was my roommate when the bar was first opened.

He overhauled the menu at the Bulldog, was in charge of food at PH, and was chef at Cecilia last I heard.

Anyone know if this has opened yet? Looks like they served some food for St. Patricks Day, but can't tell if the restaurant has fully opened yet.
