One day free in Chicago

My wife and I will be in Chicago in a few weeks. WE have Friday night and Saturday to do what we want. We will be going to a Cubs game at 1 on Saturday. Looking for something to do before the game and and really looking for a nice/fancy restaurant to take her Saturday night. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Architecture tour by boat. A must do if y’all have never done it.

I'm always one to recommend that visitors get out The Loop / Streeterville / River North and explore Chicago's neighborhoods, thought the boat tour and museum campus (not really in The Loop) are worth it. Totally understand if that's not your thing, but I'll toss my recommendations.
- Clark Street will be pretty wild before and after the Cubs game on Saturday. Plenty of bars and outdoor spaces, so might be worth walking it to see if anything catches your eye. If you're looking for a change-of-pace, though, I would recommend heading to the Southport Corridor. Plenty of boutique shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Corridor brews good beer, Tuco & Blondie has a nice patio + $10 deal that includes a taco, shot and Tecate.
- Wicker Park is a neighborhood with a lot of foot traffic, especially on a Friday night. There are plenty of restaurants and bars that are fun to stop at. Oiistar makes awesome Ramen, Publican Anker is a spinoff of Publican, Links has a nice beer menu + sidewalk patio, Big Star has a very popular patio for margaritas and tacos, Up & Up in The Robey provides fantastic views of downtown Chicago, and bars along Division between Milwaukee/Ashland and Hoyne are plentiful.
- If you would prefer a cocktail bar, Logan Square has become an absolute hotspot for them. Happy to provide some recommendations, but I really like Heavy Feather, Scofflaw, Billy Sunday, Spilt Milk, and Best Intentions.
- West Loop might be a good neighborhood to grab dinner on Saturday night. Girl & the Goat is most-popular with this board, but some other options are: Fulton Market Kitchen, Publican, Oriole (recently went for the first time), Roister, Swift & Sons, Formento's, Monteverde, Duck Duck Goat, and La Sirena Clandestina. For a before/after dinner drink or two, my two favorite spots are Booze Box underneath Sushi Dokku and the Backroom at Blind Barber.

Thank you so much Hoopsgalore. Definitely helpful. I will do some research on those and see what all we can squeeze in while we are in town.

For good reason. It's outstanding.
But yes, there are lots of other really great restaurants in Chicago to choose from.

A show at Steppenwolf. Theater Gary Sinise helped start.
There are a ton of great restaurants closeby.

I have a 9 hour layover here in a couple of weeks. I'll be going to Clark Street for the Cub game, but getting there around the 3-4 inning. Would I still have time to do the architecture boat tour after the game?

Boat Tour lasts 90 minutes. Even budgeting time for transportation, you’ll be comfortable.
ETA: Thinking about it more, could be tight. You’ll want to budget two hours to/from ORD, two hours at the game, if you arrive 3rd/4th inning, and 45 minutes (dependent on how crowded Addison platform is) from Wrigley to downtown,

if by chance you are a bourbon guy then you can not miss Delilah's. Its on N Lincoln Ave.
It's a dive bar with over 800 Whiskies
