Would you give me 10,000 to 1 odds? Kevin Malone told me that if anyone gives you 10,000 to 1 odds, you take it.

No offense to you, and it’s a good gesture to think that this kid would come but there ain’t no way he’s going to pass up 3 million bucks just to be 20 picks higher..He would be foolish to do that in my honest opinion

What if he could make another 3 million by improving his stock by 15 picks

A lot of money actually...

Picks: Value (in millions)
1st: $8
2nd: $7.4
3rd: $6.9
4th: $6.4
5th: $5.9
6th: $5.5
7th: $5.2
8th: $4.9

Also, if he signs, he goes into the minors and has maybe 3-4 years of work ahead of him, possibly 4-5 years before reaching the big show. (Based on the average amount of time it takes a 18 year old first rounder to get to the big leagues)

If he comes to LSU, he could wind up like Alex Bregman and land in the top 3 slots (see the money above) plus spend 1-2 years rising through the Minor League ranks instead of 5 years.

It is a quicker ride to the big show and it could be with a better team, or at least a better franchise instead of Milwaukee, who might be winning games this year but it ain't going to last folks, so don't bank on it.

Or like Bregman make it to the bigs in half a season.

ETA: The top 5 picks and 7 out of the top 10 were college players. 3-5 were all left side infielders.

If he wants that top 5 signing bonus then he should come to LSU.

This is where I'm at. I check in on the threads now and then, but it's just not my cup of tea to discuss it.

It's just something to discuss besides the endless "what will it take for you to admit Eaux is as good as saban" threads

I am still hurting over the entire Zach Lee episode but the difference is that it was the LA Dodgers, they had a big arse checkbook, and they did not have the restrictions on the slot values like they do today.

This is true. Even Laverne and Shirley tried to move years earlier than they did. If not for the seductive ways of Lenny and Squiggy they would have never lasted as long as they did there

The amount of pussy you can get as an lsu baseball player vs slumming it in the minors has got to weight into the decision.

IMO if Brice goes to LSU for 3years he probably gets picked top 7 and makes 5 mil or close to it. Enjoys college life banging hot coeds who give 2 shits about how much $ you have and continue to develop as a baseball player. The new facility/workout building for baseball should be finished in a year. Get stronger and mature and a young man and player. That $ will be there. No ridding on a bus and living out of motels for 3 years. If I'm not mistaken Bregs was in the minors less than 2 years right out of LSU before he was called up to the Stros.
