The team announced Wednesday it would honor the work of the replacement players who went 3-0 during the NFL strike. Washington went on to finish 11-4, win the NFC East and beat the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl.
And so they are super bowl champions, and should have gotten them when the team did. Glad they are righting this wrong.

so every player ever who plays three games and gets cut in the middle of the year gets a ring now???? it should be active roster in the SB only

Good for the replacement players. Every strike should be met replacements. Unions are corrupt dinosaurs.

What the frick does the second part have to do with anything?
Edit: Typically by calling people libtard cucks etc.

Even practice squad players get rings nowadays. These guys are deserving.

We are in the time era where everybody gets a trophy.
Off topic but I worked with a former Texas Longhorn football player. He always had his national championship ring on from the Vince Young game and he was quick to take it off to show anybody who mentioned it. Well later on I found out he graduated from Texas 3 years before the championship game. He was not a player on that team but instead he was an assistant strength coach and he got a ring too. Wore it everyday. Everybody gets rings. Probably even the janitor.

Like I said, the NFL foots the bill for 150 rings.
It's a 53-man roster.
That means this a-hole organization deemed it more important to give rings to ball boys, secretaries and locker room sluts than players that actually won 3 games.
They could have EASILY given rings to 53 replacement players and executives and bimbos who hang around the locker room and not gone over the prepaid 150.

I'm sure DeMaurice Smith will have something to say about this

Yes, let’s reward people that cross a picket line

My opinion is that no one should have gotten a ring......scabs or real players. The whole season was tainted. Since they did give them, everyone who participated in that sham should get one.

the regular team that year was 8-4. they would have been just fine without a strike that year
But there was a strike. Do you think it would have impacted their chances of winning the Super Bowl if the scabs had gone 0-3 instead of 3-0?

I was kind of disappointed with Joe Gibbs in that. He spoke glowingly of the replacements until he was asked if they deserved rings. Then he basically refused to answer.
That bothered me as well. Joe Gibbs is a great guy and coach, but he should have stood up for those players. He agreed to coach these guys by the way. If the parking lot attendant and ticket office guys get a ring, why wouldn't players that actually won the games to help the Redskins make the playoffs deserve one?
