Do y'all think they are one of the best "modern" hard rock bands?
I enjoy all of their albums except their 3rd and I believe Kennedy and Tremonti are both incredibly talented.

I think they are without a doubt. ABIII was an album that took time to appreciate. I think it's a great diverse album. To me their weakest effort is One Day Remains, but that's hard to even call it that. It's solid, but they showed more on their others.
Check out Myles' and Tremonti's work outside of Alter Bridge. Myles sings with Slash and has a solo album coming out. Tremonti has a speed metal band that he fronts. He's got a strong voice too.

Yeah I have all of Tremonti's solo stuff. He has been album coming out soon.
I haven't really gotten into Kennedy's new stuff.

Absolutely. It's a shame that that genre of music has largely gone by the wayside, probably because hi-fi metal like that is so difficult, flaws are so obvious. I think the move towards synth, simple blues, and low-fi indie punk was similar to the move from 80's hair metal to grunge in that it opened opportunity to people with less refined skills on a guitar. Alter Bridge music is pretty close to the pinnacle of their genre of music when it comes to combining talent at every position, lyrics that don't devolve into simple screaming or screeching, and consistent longevity over time.
Big fan here.

While I don’t regularly listen to them, but I saw them at Voodoo (2004 maybe) and they were excellent.

I actually think their weakest album is the latest, The Last Hero. In fact, all three of Tremonti's solo albums are better than that one.
That being said, Alter Bridge is a great band that doesn't get the credit it deserves in America. And +1 on Tremonti, incredible band as well. New album coming out this year.
But honestly, the best album featuring any of them is the "World on Fire" album with Slash and Myles Kennedy. That is one badass hard rock album.
