I'd like to see a retrospective on his life who he was before and how came to lead the saviors

I don't think they'll ever show it. It has little to do with current events, and IMO doesn't really justify
Actually, I take that back. They might do some kind of emotional monologue during which he explains some of it, possibly to gain sympathy from the audience. They seem to like humanizing the villains.

They did go briefly into his backstory a few epsiodes ago saying that when his wife turned he couldn't kill her and just left

Negan also told Gabe he didn’t start the sanctuary.
He mentioned some other douche was in charge when he got there.
I think it was Simon and he slaughtered the male population of Oceanside.
Just like he exterminated that Liabrary group right when Rick meets him at season 6 finale. He wanted to exterminate hilltop this season, and Negan was pissed asking if he was “backsliding”.
Also he wanted to exterminate the garbage group which he did.
*SPOILER theory below based on comic*
Simon will be pawned off as the real villain and probably killed by Negan himself when he learns of junkyard events. That way they could gain audience sympathy when Negan is spared by Rick and locked in Morgan’s cell for years.

I bet they will do part of an episode of him reflecting on things if the story plays out like the comics.

he has a backstory comic on youtube

The did an episode like that about the Governor, and I really enjoyed it. Lost did those all the time, and they were some of the most interesting ones.
Seems like the sweet spot to do one on Negan may have passed, but I would still like to see one.

Are we doing comic spoilers in here? If so, his backstory could be used to kind of explain his affinity for Coral.

And a good time for it in an episode would be if he gets locked up like he did in the comic.
