Posted last week about my golden having trouble with legs/hips. Vet said with his age and weight its arthritis. I want to get him an orthopedic bed to maybe ease his stiffness after resting.

Costco sells big dog beds with memory foam inside for $40. They are kinda ugly but my golden likes his a lot.

I got my older dog a coolaroo and a memory foam pillow. But the dumb fricker would take the pillow off the bed and hump,it. Probably why he had hip problems, too.

Had an old couch that had huge pillows on them. Wife sewed them together, she loves it.

We got this for our lab with the same issues and yes I thought my wife was crazy for spending that on a dog bed but it is nice. Also the serta beds from Sams are very good and only about $50

Reduce the treats. Cut down on the food.

These will be the more helpful than any bed you can buy

Rimadyl is not very effective and hell on a dogs liver.
If your Vet recomends it, get a new vet.

Gabapentin is the answer. You won't need the bed. I have a 13 yr old lab that got off of Rimadyl and started gabapentin 2 years ago. Absolute game changer.

Yeah, spend the extra cheese for a large bed with the real good memory foam support
