Went last week. Good as ever, but I was able to walk in and get a table on a Thurs night. Was crowded, but not the crazy crowds from before the scandal.

considering the previous James Beard award winning chef de cuisine was promoted to executive chef, I don't see it dropping off. However, it will be interesting to see how Alon Shaya's new version of Shaya affect the original.

I went in early September right before the brewhaha was public but certainly when everything was going down. Thought it was significantly less sharp than it was previously. Service was slow and non attentive. Had a table of 6 adults and 2 kids, ordered almost the whole menu, and would get one piece of pita at a time. Which, although a total non problem in the grand scheme of things, when the dishes are meant to be eaten with pita it made for a frustrating meal.

I think they may have started the one pita at a time deal before the mess started. I ate there last Easter weekend and we noticed a definite difference in the amount and speed of the pita serving. For awhile, we sat with no pita, but with the dips and sauces sitting there. It was definitely frustrating.

I do feel like the food is just as good, but the service is not as sharp. Could be a perception thing.

They have been skimping on the pita for a while. Since at least last spring.
