I'm waiting on one from an ammunition rebate this year. It says my submission has been received and a response is headed my way by Feb. 25th.

Response? What the hell is that? How about my check is headed my way?

I'm worried they are going to screw me.

You mean when they didn't abandon their workers by leaving them and moving away?

When you side with your workers over your customers, that's not always the best business decision.

This is outstanding news. This means Remington will be able to restructure and reorganize and get back to making quality guns once competent leadership takes over. The brand name is massive, and someone will take it over and start to build it back up - no doubt. I believe Cerberus is the umbrella company so this is all part of a strategy.

Yes, Cerberus is a Private Equity group that bought them in ‘07. They also bought Chrysler in ‘07.

Credit rating agencies have warned that Remington’s capital structure is unsustainable given its weak operating performance and significant volatility in the demand for firearms and ammunition.

Remington’s sales have declined in part because of receding fears that guns will become more heavily regulated by the U.S. government,
How is it people on boards like this saw it as inevitable -- but it took Remington's Board of Directors this long to realize they needed to "stay woke" ?

ETA: The loss of Remington is no loss. They have been a lower tier manufacturer of gun & ammo for years. Maybe it will be a lesson for some other companies who need to step up their QC.

You know why...

Not a single person on that board would likely be able to tell the difference between a rifle bullet and a pistol bullet.

Ruger and Savage and even Mossburg putting out quality rifles at the same price point as Remingtons 770s and much better quality had to play a big part in this.

They are going chapter 11. They won’t close.

They had huge debt due to the last sell out.

I bought 2 cases of steel shot on the Black Friday promotion. I was due $100 per case for a total of $200. They sent me $50. After a few attempts to correct it, they quit responding. I was duck hunting with a friend who told me they sent him nothing on his $200. He no longer buys Remington either. It adds up.
