Honest question on 2019

I hear constant talk about La being stacked with talent in 2019. To be honest, I am ignorant about that but what I don't follow is this year there were 13 composite 4 and 5 star players and that is what next year is showing.
I know ratings can be garbage, but can someone explain what is making 2019 so special? TIA

The top end guys in the state are top end guys in the entire country.

That's 3 five star guys in the state alone. Look at the number rating next to each guy. They are VERY high. So we may have a total of 12-13 5 and 4 star guys this year, but it's at a much high rating.

The elite top end guys, the ones we care about, are a lot better than last year.
We have 6 Top 100 overall players in the country with 3 being 5-stars. Last year there was just 4 (Marshall, Joseph, Rogers, Chase), and there was a very large dropoff from those Top 4 to the next few guys - Jason, Pooka, Harris, Baskerville, Cotton, etc...Pooka is an academic casualty and Harris was vastly overrated by services other than 247. Jason is really quite good but he isn't close to the level of Chase or Marshall.
There's a smaller dropoff from the Top 100 6 this year (Sophser, Stingley, Thomas, Lee, Emery, Palmer) to the next group after them - Parker, Bush, Burdine (interesting pick there for now), Davis.
This all from a ratings point of view. The fact is the Top 10 or so recruits in the state in 2019 is MUCH more talented than the Top 10 from this year. Sophser is currently the #1 recruit in the country. It's not necessarily a deeper class in terms of Top 20-25, but it's a better Top end.

Starks (LB) moved back to The Boot.

My question is what's going to stop Saban from coming and cherry picking whom ever he pleases? Jimbo to the west of us doesn't make it any easier either. If LSU has a mediocre season again the raiding of talent will get all the easier.

We've got to win big to give us a great shot at the best ones in the class.

True, and some Louisiana kids are going to go to LSU regardless - like Kardell Thomas. He loves LSU and is doing his own recruiting!

Ratings aren’t garbage. They can be wrong on a player here or there but teams that recruit high rated players have more talent than teams that do not.
247’s composite while not perfect is pretty good as it washes out some bias or outlier ratings.
LA has a good crop in 2019, a stable competent staff would clean up for LSU.
