Best place to sell/trade-in an old car for quick $

Have an old 2000 Lexus with 225K miles on it. Some cosmetic and mechanical problems but it still runs. Dealerships offered me $400/$500 but that was only towards the purchase of a new vehicle. Where can I go to sell it for some quick $ and get rid of it? I see there’s a place in Livingston that buys old cars but I’m not sure how legit they are.

I had a car like that, sold it on Autotrader in 2 days. Lots of people need cheap cars.

It’s worth more to someone who is going to drive it than someone who is going to resell it. Craigslist, autotrader, etc. to find those buyers.

Gave me more money for my truck than anyone else was. Their marketing might be corny, but it's a good option IMO

Metal price is up at the moment and you should be able to get around 350-400 if it has the cat converter and battery.

Put a sticker on it and park it at Wal-mart. Someone is buying.

call carmax, they give you fair "near" book value for it
as long as your not looking to get more then fair book value then its the quickest way to unload it.
they just buy them and resell them at auction to used car dealers so they dont pay top dollar but they pay fair value for them.
it has to have a clear title though

If it runs, you can get a grand for it on Craigslist in a day.
