5 of those 6 SEC wins last season was against teams who had/was about to fire their coach.

Auburn: Quality win
Florida: Coach fired soon after the game
Tennessee: Coach was fired before the game
Ole Miss: Coach had been fired before the season
Arkansas: Coach was fired soon after the game
Texas A&M: Coach was fired soon after the game

The other 3 wins was against the worst BYU team in school history, Chattanooga(FCS) and against Syracuse (even though they beat Clemson) that finished dead last in its division.

The losses were to 'quality teams' Miss. State, 10-win Troy and a ranked Notre Dame team.

Apart from Auburn we did not win against a team of some standing.

[I of course did not mention the other team that we lost to but that one is given].

Are we just going to keep regurgitation the same things over and over again until September? Enjoy yourselves for the next few months. Improving basketball team, gymnastics, baseball and softball ware good to great. You can go back to being miserable as soon as the season starts again.

apparently the 52 page thread on this subject did not clear up the fact that the troy loss is the most embarrassing loss since 2000.

Thanks for this refreshing topic. This hasn’t been talked about as nauseum yet.

Wow what a revelation. Whodathunkit?

As a new poster, you should search topic subjects prior to posting them to keep the Germans out.

The best win for Alabama during the regular season was against LSU.

They did not beat Auburn.

Their wins also included Tennessee, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Arkansas.

They also beat two teams whose coaches were looking to leave for other jobs. One of those opponents lost their star quarterback early in the BAMA game virtually assuring defeat.

You play your schedule however it is laid out. Doubt any of you O detractors will consider the strength of this year's schedule if the season does not turn out like you want.

What does that tell you about the overall quality of the teams in the SEC Once you remove Alabama and Georgia?

would it have been better if we had lost those 5 games? point is - we didn't lose them. if we had lost then we would have been really bad and I could understand the bitching.

I think the strength of the 2018 is the underlying point here. LSU will be tested early and often in 2018. They better have improved from 2017.

If not... it's gonna be 6-6.

So we should have played different teams?

Kinda my point.....LSU fans are ingreats and catastrophe lovers. It could stop raining for the parades in NOLA this weekend and the average LSU fan would complain that it would mean that the sun will be too bright.

Losing to Ole Miss in 2013 was worse IMO. The majority of their defense were hurt or suspended and we had the most prolific offense we'd had in years, yet we found ourselves losing by 21 at one point and ended up losing on a typical 3rd and Chavis collapse. That Ole Miss team was 3-5 in the conference. Their only other SEC wins were against Vandy and 0-8 Arkansas.
