SOTU rebuttal is certainly a challenge for the reasons mentioned.

Some suggestions though.

Have one of your team look at you on screen as fed by the camera......BEFORE going on(ya know........to avoid jizz lip)

From there, frankly, the hurdle is this.

You have 2 choices. Have prepared remarks(which is doomed likely seem as if you aren't even rebutting the actual speech). Or, go extemporaneous(which runs the risk of looking disjointed and unprepared.

I say the ONLY solution that has a chance of working is extemporaneous and having a person who is VERY light on their speaking feet do it.

Then, instead of your stupid party looking like they're pissed black unemployment is low you can:

Have your party act like it's a positive and then maybe rebut with "As you can imagine, Democrats are also thrilled that black unemployment is at historic lows.........and we just want to emphasize that our policies played an enormous role in getting us there" or something like that...........

A much better plan than just hoping everyone understands that you are just being dicks because you don't like Trump getting any credit for it.

But yeah............SOTU rebuttal isn't for the feint hearted
