I would like it so much more if it wasn't called a boudin king cake. Call it Boudin Wellington or Boudin in a Blanket.

I've never had a boudin cake but it just doesn't look very appetizing. It looks like a lot of starches and looks like it would clog your throat up eating it. Like you would need to have a big glass of water to wash it down. Like I said, I've never tried one but that's just what it looks like to me.

Lilahs bakery in shreveport makes one. There’s no cheese and it’s topped with cracklin and Drizzled with steen’s syrup. It’s like a giant boudin kolache. Very good.

Bought a boudin king cake in Laf the year they started making them. It was +$30 and terrible. Haven't bought one since and don't miss it. Not very good IMO.

Made one several years ago for a dad/son cake bake competiton. Pics are gone, but the help of this board made it happen. Gris gave me the idea and hungryone got me thru it. Was pretty cool... used plastic pigs as props in the middle of the cake, standing in homeade syrup... bacon crumbles on top. Tasted much better than I ever anticipated.

It should be called boudin Stromboli. It is delicious though.

King Cake is a dessert. Enough with the "savory" king cake shite.

I've used this exact recipe the last 2 Mardi Gras. It is delicious but the only problem is it's best eaten right out of the oven. Not a huge problem, but requires me to make it at the gathering I'm attending instead of making it beforehand.

Did the recipe at work this morning. Used a homemade Mayhaw pepper jelly and Ronnies smoked boudin and cracklins.

It gone.
