I mean first full recruiting cycle as a HC and staff and they could potentially have a top 8 class and pretty much assured top 12? Alao with 2019s class shaping up to be a top 3 class? I Really can't complain.

I think the cap is on early enrollment, not signing.

I think you are right, the cap on early signing would be same for regular signing: 25.

However, I went looking for confirmation and found other answers: LINK
A) third bullet from top- I don't think we have to worry about Surtain's father being hired. It would prevent him from going there.

B) wondered about this- 10th coach in effect Jan 9th, so available for last month's recruiting.

I read something that said this only applied to support and administrative staff, and not one of the 9 on field coaching positions. If Surtain Sr. is hired as the DB coach, I don't think this provision applies. But I'll try and find where I read that.

You are correct. Straight from the NCAA Manual (emphasis added):
quote:

11.4.4 Individual Associated with a Prospective Student-Athlete—Bowl Subdivision Football. [FBS] In bowl subdivision football, during a two-year period before a prospective student-athlete’s anticipated enrollment and a two-year period after the prospective student-athlete’s actual enrollment, an institution shall not employ (either on a salaried or volunteer basis) or enter into a contract for future employment with an individual associated with the prospective student-athlete in any athletics department noncoaching staff position or in a strength and conditioning staff position. (Adopted: 4/26/17 a contract signed before 1/18/17 may be honored.)

He closed strong last feb also. I don’t get the disdain over this class. Sure he needs to close guys like Foster/Baldwin (Rogers not coming) Surtain Pookha Cook Marshall and Watkins but I think he does get the above recruits and will have a damn good class regardless if it’s 7th or 11th imo

That's what I meant. EE cap. But thanks for clarifying. Easier to just down vote a post without a clue of the answer.
