Was kind of confused when he was up for OC under Orgeron last year. Personally thought he would have been a good fit there as head coach.

But he's really just an extended interim. Kind of like Hoke is about to be at UT.

You think Saban would just allow his OC to go to LSU? He told Sexton to find Lane a head coaching job.

Lets say Orgeron is on the hot seat next year and gets the boot. Would you be completely against hiring him?

Absolutely not. Solid football and great entertainment value.

Kiffin isn't going back to being an OC after his success this season. Last year he absolutely would have been LSU's OC, but you can bet Nick Saban killed that deal. I don't give a shite what anyone says. I doubt Lane Kiffin would have chosen to the be HC at some nowhere school, making LESS money than LSU would have paid him to be the OC, without some outside "influence". If nothing else, it makes little financial sense. Kiffin could have still gotten a HC job by having success as LSU's OC.

I'm sure Kiffin has a few skeletons in the closet that Nick may have used against him if he (Kiffin) had gone to one of Alabama's biggest competitors. Now that ship has sailed. Kiffin has done better than expected at FAU. He can afford to remain the HC there and wait for a good job to open next season...or Florida St. THIS season.

The next time Kiffin leaves a head job without a huge dumpster fire behind him will be the first time.

Germans...

Kiffin made a pact with Orgeron, he said I'll come to LSU if I can't find a HC job. He found a HC job.

Now that he's re-established himself as a head coach, he won't be taking OC positions unless a power 5 school just won't hire him.

Orgeron DID want Kiffin as his OC and WOULD have hired him, but Kiffin declined it in order to take the HC job at FAU.
