He probably lost the job last Saturday anyway, as the backup came in and looked better than Speight did at any point this season, and there were already calls for him to be replaced, but still unfortunate news for him and depth.

I can't link a story because the very long thread is on a premium board, but it will be announced in the near future.

They are saying fractured vertebrae.

That's scary. Didn't he walk off?

John O'korn, Houston transfer, probably stole Speight's spot anyway. He looked poised vs (lowly) Purdue, and the offense looked much better with him at the helm than Wilton.

Maybe he'll get a head start on the job he was destined to do, become a butler.

Man that sucks to hear. At least the backup has some experience. Some big games coming up for UM

Could turn out to be a blessing. He regressed a lot this year.

McCaffrey will redshirt. He'll probably be the favorite next year though.

I honestly think the shoulder injury he sustained late last year permanently damaged him.

Can O'Korn bear Ohio State? Can O'Korn beat Penn State?

Those are the only questions that matter.

I do not believe the UM offense as a whole is good enough to win the big ten east division.

The game itself is brutal.

Tend to agree. Problem is less QB play and more the O line, especially the right side.

This opens it up for Peters. McCafferey should not even be mentioned he's a huge project won't be ready for a few years

What is the story with Peters? 10 cent head? They better have him or McCaffrey up and running next year or I bet Jim heads for the NFL if one of them doesn't hit.
