anybody play these, doesn't seem like much fun if you can't unleash the Ping driver.

I love it. Practice makes perfect.
Short game matters.
If you want to unleash big dog, get to the driving range and buy big bucket.

I like the concept, but all the par 3 courses I've been to are in horrible shape. Doesn't really do much good to practice your short game on shitty greens and patchy grass with rock hard ground.

The ones associated with the Robert Trent jones trail in Alabama are all top shelf.
Most have like 7 tees so you can play from 75 to 250 yards. The one in Dothan was never crowded. The greens were nice too.

There is a nice one near me over in New Mexico. I play it probably every four or five times I play a regular course. Its fun and good practice

You only drive 90 yards anyways.

There was one in Slidell many years ago and I wish like hell it was still there. Used to play one in Covington way back in the day as well that had artificial turf greens. It was like hitting on to concrete.

Audubon Park is the perfrect compromise. Never feel like you haven't played a real round of golf. Always in great shape.
Origins Golf Club between Destin and Panama is a lot of fun too. You can play as a 6 hole regulation course or a 10 hole par-3, or any combination you want. Pretty piece of property too. Perfect for families

Whispering Pines has a brutally tough one.
Bluejack has a great one. Longest hole is about 80 yds. Grab a wedge, a putter, a drink and gamble away

When we have a group playing on the trail, we’ll play 18 in the morning. Go eat and grab a few drinks in the clubhouse, load up the cooler and play 9 on the short course barefoot from the front tees.

Played the one in either Biloxi or Gulfport. On the back bay, 18 holes. The back nine started with two short par 4’s, then the rest par 3’s. Drove number 10, was like 230 downhill, drained the putt. Birdied the next hole, 3 under after two holes, ended up shooting par or a few over. This was back in the late 70’s.

Only problem is it’s quite possibly the douchiest clientele in the state.

Lsu had a chip and putt course, but it was more or less a chip course, because the greens were so bad putting wasn't something worth doing.
