PFF grades

PFF grades are in.
PERFORMANCES OF NOTE:
QB DREW BREES, 78.2 OVERALL GRADE
Not the swashbuckling display that Brees produced on his first visit to Wembley in 2008 but Brees looked sharp on the opening drive and did just enough for the Saints throughout the game to see them through. Solid as ever on the short stuff Brees went 4-of-6 for 96 yards on passes aimed 10 or more yards downfield, taking the big play when needed.
T RYAN RAMCZYK, 50.5 OVERALL GRADE
A solid game for Ramczyk was somewhat derailed when he was badly beaten outside by Charles Harris on a hit in the first play of the fourth quarter. The hit led to wholesale changes on the Saints’ offensive line with Zach Strief injured by Harris taking Brees down. A subpar fourth quarter followed for Ramczyk who switched sides to allow Senio Kelemete into the game at LG thus, souring a decent performance prior.
CB MARSHON LATTIMORE, 88.0 OVERALL GRADE
The raw coverage number of four catches allowed on four targets for 41 yards may not look stellar, but Lattimore was a strong presence on the field for the Saints playing physically at the line of scrimmage and beyond to disrupt the Dolphins’ passing game. His two biggest impact plays both led to fumbles, first wrenching the ball from Kenny Stills’ grasp on a screen and then covering DeVante Parker up on a screen early in the fourther quarter to prevent Jay Cutler throwing on an RPO which led to a forced fumble on a sack by Cam Jordan.
CB KEN CRAWLEY, 85.9 OVERALL GRADE
A double dose of positivity at corner for the Saints with Crawley backing up his recent performances with another scrappy display making Miami’s receivers fight for every catch and yard into his coverage. Crawley picked up his first interception of the season and broke up a pass for the second straight week. The Saints’ D has markedly improved with Crawley in the lineup, the second-year corner has allowed a passer rating of just 31.3 on the 18 passes into his coverage in the last two weeks.

LOL, Think he had better pressure today from what I am reading?

Just imagine if Breaux & Sterling Moore come back 100% healthy. Top 5 CB's of Lattimore, Crawley, PJ Williams, Breaux, & Sterling Moore is pretty sick.

Said Cutler was pressured on half his drop backs, which would be 14 or 15. Pretty good amount for one game, especially considering how well Tunsil played (only gave up 1 pressure).
Last two games we have been getting pressure while playing primarily man.

I’m stunned we have no turnovers Bone.
“LONDON -- One of the biggest reasons for the New Orleans Saints' turnaround this year? They aren’t beating themselves.
The Saints (2-2) became just the third team since 1933 to play the first four games of the season without a turnover, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. The others are the 1995 St. Louis Rams and 2013 Tennessee Titans.”
Wow!!!

It just pisses me off all the more the gameplan we went into the Vikes game with on both sides of the ball, but especially on defense. That's a game we could and should have won.
The Pats game likely plays out as a loss no matter what we did. They just had more time to game plan the frick out of us. Didn't help that it took to long to adjust, but the game was gone by then anyway.

Vikings game , (Saints) 4 field goals, Bradford 350 yards passing, Cook 130 yards rushing.

The last fg when we obviously needed a td pissed me off to no end. As bad as the defense was, and they were terrible, that was a true team loss, and it was still only by 10.
It was within reach and we would be tied for the division lead instead of trying to claw back in.

Only 1 sack and Bradford was passing at will. Was stunned we played that bad. Also perplexed Crawley was not starting. But Vikes having almost 500 yards of offense was just terrible.
re: PFF gradesPosted by bonethug0108 on 10/1/17 at 11:37 pm to t00f
Lack of pressure was because of how wide open guys were. Bradford was getting it out under 3 seconds almost every snap.
We go man and the last two games we got a ton of pressure.
That has been THE core issue since Allen arrived in 2015. He zone and off man coverage doesn't lend to getting pressure.
It's night and day when we actually man up and play close.

If we played the Vikings again, I think it would be a very different outcome. We aren't the same team that we were in week 1. The coaching staff has done a great job in fixing all the problems.
Not saying that we would 100% win the game, but they wouldn't skull drag us up & down the field like they did in week 1. I think it would be a damn good game. Also Bradford & Dalvin Cook are hurt now.
The Lions just beat them 14-7. I know we get the Lions at home in week 6, but that's going to be a tough win. Hopefully we get Armstead back. The Lions have a good defense.

I’m a little more reserved, Cam was without Benjamin and Olsen and Fins O is terrible. Thing I am hopeful about in the last two games is the O and the ability to score points against two very good D’s.

Nothing wrong with that, but we should get a much better idea after the Lions & Packers game. One thing to keep in mind is that Crawley wasn't even active for our 1st 2 games & you can pretty much throw the Vikings game out of the window considering we've moved on from the zone defense(also moved on from DeVante Harris).
Besides the 1st drive against the Dolphins, we literally demoralized their offense. It was like we were playing their 2nd & 3rd string offense. The 2nd half against Carolina was the same story.
Hopefully it works out for us in the next few weeks. I'm cautiously optimistic. I really like this defense when we play man coverage, but the last 3 seasons make me curb my enthusiasm a little.

We have seen the poor start with a little spurt script before. It does seem different than the past three seasons. In each of those years it took until game 8 to reach .500. Going a game over .500 at game 5 is just a step but it's one we haven;t seen in a while.

I'm not even expecting us to beat the Lions. I expect us to keep the game close, but they're a tough match-up for the Saints. If we beat the Lions...this team should be looked at as a playoff caliber team. Right now, I'd say we're borderline.
Even if we lose though, we're nowhere near out of it. Even though we play the Packers in Green Bay...we match up very well against them. We did just go into Carolina & beat the dogshit out of them.
