I was wondering how the flooding will affect the wildlife? Fire ant masses floating everywhere, cottonmouths, rattlers, and all snakes seeking higher ground, deer trying to escape somewhere, and the hogs. Wonder if a lot of the hogs will drown? Thousands of head of cattle, horses, and other livestock in the flood path, too. I can't even begin to imagine the stench and the mess when the water goes down. Will it be worse than Katrina's aftermath?

Hogs tear up everything. But, they are survivors too. I honestly don't care if they make it, which also makes me a hypocrite because I am an animal lover.

I worry about all the other animals.

This was one of our cows during the storm last year. She had just went under the river bridge. Found her and 4 more about 3 miles down the river after the flood waters went down.

I love when the river gets out the banks around the house. We put the boat in and ride through the woods to the high spots and pick the hogs off. If during rabbit season we kill a bunch on floating logs, briars, etc.

That alligator by the front door is like ordering delivery food. That's some good eats.
