Six of us went to the Southern Rocky Mountains for six days last week. It was a great trip. We rented a home from VRBO in Arroyo Seco. It was a 2,300sqft pueblo home for $325 per night. Here are the pics of the place.

This was the view from the living room.

I took a hike 3.9 mile hike the first morning there. Started at 6,900' and stopped at 8,600'. The temp was 50 degrees at the house. When I stopped and turned around it was 45 degrees. Pics of my hike.

The following day my wife and I drove to Red River, a 40min drive from our house and took a ski lift ride. It was a 1,600' ride to the summit. It took 30mins to get the and back down. The views at the top were great.

The next we did a white water rafting trip in the Rio Grande. Three hourse of class 3 and a few class rapids. No pictures yet. We're waiting to get them from the rafting company. I will post them when I get them.
On our fifth day we rented a side by side and climbed and went to goose lake. Starting elevation was 8,600'. The lake is at 11,400'. It took us 2.5 hours to go 5 miles. It was a rough ride but totally worth it. It was mid day when we got there and it was around 48 degrees. Here's the pics on the way and of the lake.

Although we didn't catch anything, my wife and had to wet a line!

If you notice mid picture to the right side, that's my wife fishing.

My buddy and I hikes as far up the side of the peak as we could. It was tough due to me being a coonass and not used to the elevation!

The last day we went to the Rio Grange Gorge. It was awesome to see.

We did some trout fishing. My wife caught the only fish of the day. It's a lot different that fishing in Louisiana!

Over it was a great trip. It cost us around $3,000. Not to mention My and wife and I sat about 5 feet away from Julia Roberts, no pics, for about an hour at a quaint little secluded restaurant in Arroyo Seca. She lives in the area.
We will be going back soon!!!!!!!!

I was at Goose Lake the same week. Took my Polaris RZR XP 4. We did Cabresto Lake, Cabresto Canyon, Midnight Meadows, Midnight Mines, Pioneer Canyon and creek x2, Greenie Peak x2. 100 miles of trails.

Goose Lake got busy and it was hairy going down.

I do. Let me play around with devices. On something with no pics. Also did the ski lift. Not a moment not out doors. My kids floated the creek and I caught them at the bridge.

I think I remember meeting you and your boy. I was the one from Louisiana trying to fish in Goose Lake. I am currently starting to plan on moving to the area in the next two to three years.

We saw several big horn sheep at the Rio Grande Gorge. Pretty cool. Great bridge.

I love northern New mexico!
