Why can't I edit (delete) some of my really old posts?

I'm interested in deleting my account, but I understand that's not possible. However, after trying to manually delete my posts, I realize I'm not allowed to do that either. Is there any remedy I have for wanting my post history removed?

I love this site, and I want to continue to post here, but my old posts are nothing but a liability.
Honestly, if users are allowed to edit some of their posts, they should be allowed to edit all of their posts.
Also, I don't get why it's ok for some users to have their entire post history hidden (justme), but not ok for other posters to do the same.

it's usually some type of legal trouble that causes such a thing.

Lol, I don't plan on being in legal trouble. However, in the unlikely event that my professional career ever takes off like a rocket, I don't want my Tigerdroppings posting history to bring negative attention to myself.
