Very much agree. There are so many things that really done so well in III. It makes it that much more of a head-scratcher on the parts that were so painfully bad. I think the final lesson is that when someone truly has control of a project, very little can be done to even just provide critical feedback. Imagine if Christopher Nolan had just had veto power over any particular decision of George Lucas in the making of the prequels.

There's a comic book adaptation for the"rough draft" of the Star Wars saga. To say it is bad is putting it mildly, but it does get somewhat of a pass because there is good reason why it is not as fleshed out as the films. It does share a lot of elements with the prequels, so there's good evidence to the point of lucas having more control over the PT to the detriment of the franchise.

Still, I admire him for putting his vision out there, even if it's not as critically well received.
