Best meal i had out there last week was easily Herb & Wood. Outstanding grub. Mr. A's is great for cocktails & view of the city.... But food wasnt what I expected from "San Diego's Best."

Food there, as a whole, was pretty disappointing. Sushi Lounge on Market was good sushi tho. Top of the Market was a good lunch spot on the water.

Hit Kansas City BBQ across from the Hyatt/Cheesecake Bistro... Thats where Top Gun's Piano/Bar Scenes were filmed.

Osteria Panevino. The ossobuco is legit. Cool atmosphere too.

I used to hang out at the bitter end but I don't even know if it's still around.

Yard house is a big chain now, but when we went in 2007 it was awesome in San Diego. And if you are a beer nerd it's beer list was asinine. Much more so than the location we have now in Houston.

Is there still a Jim Croce bar/lounge there?

I thought it was AWESOME. but I was drunk enough to think anything was awesome

Bump.

I'll be out that way as well and will use this rather than start a new thread.

In terms of beer, It's a little outside of gaslamp, but monkeys paw had an OUTSTANDING taplist. Stone has a place right by the ball park, and there was a little place we went for lunch that had a fresh keg of Pliny the Elder on tap. I thought the food down at the fish market was actually pretty good. We ate on the wharf as the sunset and it was a good experience last time I was there. Modern Times brewery was good near old town; might be worth a transit ride if you combine with a dinner at one of the Mexican restaurants...

Go to Pop's Liquor Cabinet. It's a tint little place with like seating for 6. The bartender is amazing and some of the best drinks I've ever had in my life.

Check out the reviews online. You won't be disappointed.

Went a year ago for business. Been to gaslamp area a few times. Usually stay at Residence Inn

Searsucker
Donovan's for steak
Water Grill

I went out to Omnia and had a good time, if you're into that kind of scene.

Went in and out several others bars/pubs in the area, nothing really memorable to recommend.
